Photography I Hamburg I 2011
Hafencity is a new district in Hamburg, which adds about 40% of new space to the center of the city, exclusevly at the harbour waterfront. The project is one of the biggest construction sites in Europe and is advertised with high class renderings of luxurious apartments and offices, dealing with the maritime identity and international air of Hamburg. The economic goal is to create a new iconic downtown district owned by international hedge funds.
A series of three obvious manipulated and imperfect rendered photos provoke a gentrifcation in the opposite direction and show what might happen, when people occupy this new district and luxery turns into decay.
